Spanish Spree - April 2009
Day 11: Returning Home
We awoke in Madrid ready to return home. We made it to the Madrid airport with no problems, despite several transfers to different lines on the metro. Our flight to JFK was on time and uneventful, followed by an easy time with customs in New York and finally, a delayed flight back to Rochester where familiar faces were happy to see us.
I have to say, I think Barcelona was my favorite city in Spain, with Nerja being a close (and unexpected) second. I hope to return to both cities at some point in the future. That being said, I enjoyed my brief visits in the other towns of Spain as well and I'm glad I got to see them. Each city had its own unique flair and was worth exploring.
Both of us had loved Spain and we had an incredible time traveling together - it wasn't a disaster at all; in fact, I think it brought us closer together. I'm so glad we were able to spend this time together and will treasure these memories forever.
