Spanish Spree - April 2009
Introduction
Ever since I started taking Spanish classes, my mother and I joked about how much fun it would be to go to Spain. Then many years later, after I graduated college, we started seriously considering a trip to Spain! I started tracking airfare, and when I saw a good deal, we decided to go ahead and book the trip. It would be just my mom and I, and we were looking for some quality time together and a great travel experience. We spent the next nine months planning, trying to decide what we wanted to see. We quickly realized that with only 11 days - including travel time - there was no way we'd be able to fit in everything that we had originally wanted to see.
We ended up choosing to fly into Barcelona (Point A on the map below) before then flying to Granada (Point B), bussing to Nerja (Point C) on the Costa del Sol, then taking a bus and train to Cordoba (Point D), and finally taking the train to Madrid (Point E) for the end of our trip.

While planning the trip, I have to admit my excitement was slightly overpowered by nervousness - never before had I spent 11 days with only my mom for company, and I wasn't sure if this trip would help or hurt our relationship. Hoping for the best, I tried to put those worries aside and by the time the day we were supposed to leave arrived, I was ecstatic for this trip.
